G2A Goldmine or Kinguin Mafia?

When choosing between G2A Goldmine and Kinguin Mafia for a platform to earn money when gaming, there is a lot to consider. Fortunately, both sites are reputable and both sites have their advantages. This article will help you choose which will be best for you based on what you plan to do, the reach of your social media and gaming activities, and how much time you plan to spend on attempting to earn money. Both sites, however, will require work on your part, but once you have a decent sized team, you will start to earn passive income through their purchases and should be able to either make some money to keep, or put that money towards awesome new games.

Make money with G2A Goldmine and Kinguin Mafia

G2A and Kinguin both offer something a little bit different for affiliates, I'll break down their base plans for normal affiliates. If you start bringing in a lot of sales, you should definitely contact them as they will probably be willing to give you a coupon code for free which will pass on extra savings to your viewership and result in more sales, giving both the site and you extra profit. I'll evaluate both affiliate programs now and break them down in terms of compensation so you can see what's going on. Both sites utilize cookies so if someone clicks on one of your ref links, you may earn money down the line if they don't make a purchase right away.

G2A Goldmine Compensation and fine print

For tier one sales on G2A (Meaning you directly referred someone that made a purchase) You'll earn 2.48% of the sales price in commission. Once this person has made a purchase, they'll be added to your team and you'll earn another 2.48% of each purchase they make for life. If one of your tier one referrals refers someone, you'll earn 1.49% of each purchase that tier two referral makes. Furthermore, if a tier two customer refers someone that makes a purchase, you'll earn 0.59% of each purchase made by that referral.

Let's take for instance a $50 dollar game.

If a tier one referral purchases the game, you'll earn $1.24.

If  a tier two referral purchases the game, you'll earn $0.74.

And if a tier three referral purchases the game, you'll earn $0.30.

You can see that tier one referrals will bring in the most revenue for you, but also that the second and third tier referrals will also bring in money, especially if you've got a large team.

G2A Goldmine has no minimum payout and will pay you with Paypal. When you choose to take a Paypal payment, it can take up to 7 days and you will pay roughly $1.30 in fees, so it's best to take payments less frequently and in larger amounts.

All referrals of tiers 1-3 are perpetual so you'll earn money passively as your team makes purchases. Building a solid platform of tier one referrals then offering to help them learn how to use Goldmine to make money can be a great way to make a ton of money through tier two and three referrals.

Kinguin Mafia Compensation and Fine Print

Kinguin offers a much higher tier one referral payment than G2A, clocking in at 5% for each purchase. Like G2A, once someone has joined your Family, then you'll earn based on all future purchases that person makes. At tier two referrals, Kinguin offers affiliates 0.75% of sales, and at tier three, Kinguin offers 0.25% of sales.

Let's show some examples of compensation for a $50 dollar game like we did with G2A so you can get an idea of how you will earn.

If a tier one referral purchases the game, you'll earn $2.50

If a tier two referral purchases the game, you'll earn $0.38

If a tier three referral purchases the game, you'll earn $0.13

You can see that while tier one sales make roughly double what G2A offers, tier two and three sales earn roughly half of what G2A offers.

Kinguin has a minimum payout of $30, meaning you'll need to bring in $600 dollars worth of sales in order to get a payment, anything less than that and Kinguin won't pay you anything. Kinguin doesn't charge a fee to send a Paypal payment and will process it within 7 days.

Fortunately, Kinguin does make it easier to earn more money from tier one sales than G2A, but you'll earn less from your second and third tier referrals.

G2A Goldmine and Kinguin Mafia example of sales

Let's say you make $500 of tier one sales, $400 of tier two sales, and $300 of tier three sales, here's what you'd be looking at in terms of total compensation from both G2A Goldmine and Kinguin Mafia.

With these sales numbers, Kinguin pays out more with a total payment of $28.75 while G2A pays out $18.83. As you can see, because the volume of tier one sales was so significant, Kinguin offered more compensation than G2A. To give some perspective, I added charts which break down the portion of earnings from each of the categories. While G2A's tier one earnings are still larger than tier two and three combined, the second and third tier make up more of the total earning than Kinguin's payout model. Both sites have their merits, but G2A's heavier compensation for second and third tier models make it more profitable to connect with your affiliates and help them refer new customers. With kinguin, it might not be worth the time to help your tier one referrals due to the fact that with $700 worth of sales for tier two and three, you'll only earn $3.75.

Which one is right for me?

Deciding which site is right for you can be a difficult decision to make, fortunately you could try both and see which you like over time, but if you choose to use both, it will make it harder to get a payment from either one. For my this site, I've chosen to use both because I think both provide value for my readers and for gamers in general. Both sites have great deals, both sites offer great customer support, and both sites offer great affiliate programs.

If you've created something of value or are bringing in a good sales volume, you should contact both sites and see if they can offer you something more. For my other website, Hearthstone Champion, G2A offered me a permanent 3% off coupon for my readers while still offering me the same compensation rates as a normal affiliate. Kinguin offered me a coupon for 3% off for my readership, but that 3% would have come out of my percentage of earnings for each sales when used.

Overall, it will largely depend on the size of your viewership and what you bring to the table in terms of what G2A and Kinguin will offer you in terms of extra benefits or increased compensations. Here are my general suggestions:

As with most affiliate marketing platforms, you can expect to have more tier two and three referrals than tier one due to the fact that it scales downwards. As you are just starting out, expect much more tier one affiliates. Since it scales downwards, over time you will earn more from tier two and three referrals, but you will not earn as much with G2A starting off as you will with Kinguin due to the fact that Kinguin offers double what G2A pays for a tier one sale. However, if you have a small viewership or aren't sure how committed you are, then G2A might be the better option. Because G2A doesn't have a minimum payout, as long as you earn over $1.30 in commissions, you'll get something out of it. The lack of a minimum payout makes G2A more attractive for affiliates that don't know if they'll be able to bring in $600 dollars worth of sales or not.
